Socially significant artificial intelligence projects will be able to use the computing power and data of the Ministry of Digital Technologies free of charge or at a discount. Access is granted through a competition held twice a year.
The procedure was approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 581 of 20 October 2026. The document has been published in the National Legislation Database. The next selection round is scheduled for November.
The project must be socially significant. The capacity may be used to train, test and validate AI models, run computations and perform analytics.
The competition is held twice a year, in July and November, and applications are scored on a 100-point scale. Participants who disagree with the results may appeal within three working days, and the commission reviews the appeal within five working days at most.
What this means in practice. If you are a university, research organisation or startup working on a socially significant AI project, prepare an application for the November competition. Make sure in advance that you are applying with a single project that does not involve commercial resale of data: this is a condition of access. Keep an eye on the appeal deadline — only three working days after the results are announced.
