The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procedure for state registration of medical and pharmaceutical workers. From 1 January 2030, only those registered in a given specialty will be allowed to practise it. Registration is valid for five years.
This is Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 577 of 19 October 2026. It enters into force three months after its official publication.
Workers with at least 20 years of experience in their specialty and an academic degree are registered without a special exam.
The certificate is issued in electronic form only. Its validity is checked in the unified electronic register. No paper original or duplicate is provided.
What this means in practice. Doctors, pharmacists and clinics have until 2030: voluntary registration is possible from mid-2027. Employers should draw up a list of staff and their specialties in advance. Those who work in several specialties will have to apply for each one separately and keep track of the five-year term.
