Cabinet Resolution No. 501: children of teachers get a 30% discount on tuition at state universities

Children of teachers admitted to and studying at state universities will get a 30% tuition discount from the 2026/2027 academic year. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure by Resolution No. 501 of 17 September 2026. The resolution took effect on 18 September.

Discount amount

The discount is 30% of the contract tuition fee. It is granted annually to full-time bachelor's students at state universities. If a teacher has several children studying on a fee-paying basis, each of them receives the discount separately.

Where the discount does not apply

  • At private universities
  • At foreign universities and their branches
  • At military and paramilitary institutions
  • In joint programmes and faculties with foreign partners
  • For studies under a differentiated (higher-rate) contract

How to apply

  • Applications are filed through the kontrakt.edu.uz system
  • The parent's teaching status is verified automatically through the e-government interagency platform
  • A decision is made within two working days

If the parent stops working as a teacher, the discount ends from the following academic year.

What this means in practice. Teachers' families should apply before paying the contract fee.

  • Make sure in advance that the parent's employment data in state databases is up to date: a mismatch may lead to an automatic refusal
  • If refused, obtain a certificate of the teaching position from the employer and apply to the university again
