From 1 November 2026 until the end of February 2027, the basic natural gas consumption norm for households has increased fivefold, from 100 to 500 cubic metres a month. Within the norm, a cubic metre costs 1,100 soums; anything above it is charged at higher tiers.
This is a seasonal norm that applies during the heating period. According to YUZ.uz, it was set by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 204 of 16 April 2024. From 1 March to 31 October, the norm returns to 100 m³ a month.
Outside the heating season, the same tiers start after the first 100 m³.
From the same date, LPG-Trade LLC buys liquefied gas through the exchange, and social facilities are supplied at exchange prices. For low-income families, the state covers the difference between tariffs within and above the norm: under Decree No. UP-236 of 28 October 2026, this compensation has been extended until 1 April 2028.
What this means in practice. In winter, a household pays the lowest tariff for up to 500 m³ of gas a month, and almost twice as much for every cubic metre above that. Compare your November meter reading with the first bill: being charged the higher rate for consumption below 500 m³ is a reason to contact your gas supplier. If your family's income does not exceed 2 MCE per person, ask your mahalla about compensation for consumption above the norm.
